Cleaning With Vinegar

• Clean brass and copper objects around the home by using a solution made from equal parts of lemon juice and vinegar. Apply the mixture with a soft cloth, leave it for a few minutes and then rub it off with a lint free cloth.
• Cleaning with vinegar is a cheap and easy way to make your windows sparkle like new. Simply mix together 1 tablespoon of vinegar in 1 litre of warm water and then use it to wash the inside and outside of your house's windows.
• For small, rusty metal objects you can use vinegar to remove the rust by soaking them in it until the rust stains disappear.
• Cleaning stainless steel pots and pans can involve a lot of scrubbing. However if you use a cloth dipped in vinegar and then bicarb soda you can clean and polish these kitchen utensils with ease.
• If your kids have put stickers on things and you want to remove them you can easily do so by immersing the item in pure vinegar until they simply peel off.
• To clean the mineral deposit build up from your steam iron use a natural green cleaning solution made up of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Fill the iron with the mixture and make it steam until it is all used up. Then rinse the iron with some clean water.
• Children's toys and baby equipment such as highchairs and change tables can be cleaned and disinfected by using a cloth that has been soaked and then wrung out in a mixture of 1 tablespoon vinegar and 1 cup of warm water. Wipe with a clean cloth after it dries to give the items a shiny, new look.
• For an electric kettle cleaning with vinegar is an effective way to remove mineral deposits. Simply half fill the kettle with water and add 30ml of white vinegar. Then switch the kettle on and allow it to boil for 10-15 minutes with the top open so that it doesn't automatically switch off. Then rinse the kettle out 3 or 4 times to remove all of the particles that the vinegar cleaner has dislodged.
• Another cleaning use for vinegar is as a stain remover for your bath. Just dip a cloth in vinegar and then wipe the marks and stains from the bath.
• Use a sponge or cloth soaked in pure white vinegar to clean the soap residue off your shower door, screen and bathroom tiles. You can even perform grout cleaning with vinegar by letting it soak into the grout before removing the mould with a toothbrush.
• If you have dirty or smelly wood chopping boards then you can use a vinegar disinfectant to clean it thoroughly. Just wipe the cutting board with a cloth soaked in full strength white vinegar and allow it to air dry.
• When it comes time to clean your fish tank don't use chemicals or detergents that might remain in the aquarium after you refill it. Instead a green cleaning solution is to use white vinegar mixed with water to help you wipe the fish tank clean.
